PLS 233 US Foreign Policy since 1945: Lesson 1 Theory

This guide has the syllabus resources for Mr. Jack D. Segal's class US Foreign Policy since 1945.

Required Reading

Lesson 1: The Framework for U.S. Foreign Policy since World War
The theoretical foundation behind our foreign policy.  The structure of the policy process.  The origins of the Cold War.  Since this is our first classroom session, I will not assume you've had a chance to read much of the material, but if you can, a good starting point would be the "Long Telegram," one of the most important documents in US diplomatic history.
